Presenting iSolo the world’s smallest wireless acoustic guitar microphone, to solve problems with piezo and under-saddle of the acoustic guitar. While piezo and under-saddle pickup systems are convenient, they don’t capture the same sound as a microphone positioned near the soundhole. Problematically, though, miking an acoustic guitar means that you have to stay glued to the spot for your entire performance. As MusicRadar reports, the Indiegogo-funded iSolo wireless mic offers a solution. It’s a cardiod-like condenser mic and preamp that you can mount to the guitar’s body, which pairs up with a stompbox-style receiver for playing and a USB receiver for recording direct to computers or mobile devices.
Mounting the iSolo to an acoustic involves using its built-in ‘Magic Carpet’ – an adhesive gel-covered sponge that won’t mark your guitar. The mic is omnidirectional and can be precisely positioned using a flexible gooseneck. The full iSolo pack costs $349 from Indiegogo, and includes the iSolo mic, plus live and recording receivers; a mic and recording receiver package is also available for $199.
Personaly, I would realy love to test this amazing contraption 🙂
