Sacha Baron Cohen first found exposure on television at 24 performing an early rendition of his character Borat, then known as Christo. In 1998, he was doing two-minute sketches as fashion reporter Brüno, on the British Paramount Comedy Channel. They wanted an actor who could write and also do characters, and Sacha was the right man for the job.
Sasha always took comedy seriously, so seriously that he dropped out of one of the most respected schools in the world, Cambridge University, to attend France’s most prestigious clown academy. However it wasn’t until he was 29 years old that comedy became his full time job. Staring in Da Ali G show in 2000 and filming an Ali G movie in 2002, it wasn’t until he came to America that his career really took off. Check out Sacha Baron Cohen before he was famous.
