Last month Facebook’s update to its messenger app, meant that you could start video calls with someone in places including Germany, Canada, Croatia and Greece.
The feature has now been launched WORLDWIDE, meaning you can speak face-to-face with anyone in any part of the world for FREE.
You need to have the latest version of the Messenger app for iOS and Android and Facebook’s Vice President of Messaging Products David Marcus believes that this puts the company in a strong position to compete with Microsoft’s Skype and Apple’s FaceTime feature.
Check out the official introducing video:
All you do is hit the video icon in the top right and you will be able to launch a video call. It will automatically start using the front facing camera but you can switch it to the rear one if you’re planning on gloating to your mates about your beach holiday view.
With other updates like the ability to send money through the messenger app on the way, there may eventually be very little you can’t do over Facebook.
