A new Dragon Ball series is set for July 2015

The Japanese studio TOEI ANIMATION has announced it will be releasing a new Dragon Ball series for broadcast in Japan, and it will be titled DRAGON BALL SUPER!

It will be the first all new Dragon Ball television series to be released in 18 years!! The series will tell stories that take place after the events of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Ressurection Fand. The Japanese studio promised the show will create a bold new universe, welcoming fans and endearing to new viewers.

The legendary creator of Dragon Ball AKIRA TORIYAMA has developed the storyline for Dragon Ball Super and will be acting supervisor for the project and will overlook the entire project like he should. The series will be broadcasted on Japan’s FUJY TV on sundays, starting in July.

Producer Osamu Nozaki had this to say:

Having loved Dragon Ball since my childhood, it is very exciting to be a part of this project. Mr. Toriyama has developed a plot that’s not only a dream come true for millions of Dragon Ball fans, but one that will foster in a new generation of viewers.

While no plans have been announced for a wider release in europe and the us, but surely it is only a matter of time. All I need is english subtitles and that’s about it.
